Previous history of the model

This is not our first year competing in robotics competitions, but this is our first time in Slovakia. This year’s robot we made entirely ourselves. The process started in November 2023. with 3d modelling and printing the chassis of the robot. The next came acquiring all the electronic parts we needed. We installed the robot’s motors and InfraRed sensors which we use for following the line. Next simply came the battery and the voltage regulator. Connecting all the components to the robot’s controller and doing the cable routing. The construction process was harder than we expected as the metal parts that hold the motors in place didn’t fit. We redesigned the chassis, and we could finally start programming. For this robot we are using the FischerTechnik TXT 4.0 interface, because it supports python. Following weeks, we used for testing the robot’s ability to follow the line and evade obstacles. With that part done we could start planning and eventually designing the grabber and placing the ultrasonic sensors. Originally, we were going to place the grabber on the rear of the robot facing backwards, so we ordered the servo motors and assembled the grabber. That tactic turned out to be inefficient, because it added a lot of extra length to the robot itself making it hard to maneuver around obstacles on the line and inside the red room. Ater that came yet another redesign of the cassis, this being the 3rd version. The redesign included repositioning the grabber to the front of the robot. With the ultrasonic sensors installed the hardware was done. Last remaining thing was to do the programming for the red room.
